ADVERB (କ୍ରିୟା ବିଶେଷଣ)

      A word that modifies the meaning of a verb,an adjective or another adverb is called an adverb.

Kinds of AdverbsAdverbs may be divided into the following classes according to their meaning-:

  • Adverb of Time

    Before,Ago,lately,Yet,Now,Soon, Yesterday, Already,Never etc.

    Always,Once,Seldom,Rarely,Usually etc.

  • Adverb of Place

    Here,There,Everywhere,Down,Near,Away, Backward,Upward etc.

    Slowly,Soundly,Delightfully,Bravely,Foolishly,
    Clearly etc.

  • Adverb of Degree

    Almost, Very,Fully,Rather,Enough,Quite,Too,So,Really

Rule 1 -:Adjective qualifies a noun and pronoun whereas adverb modifies a verb, an adjective and an adverb.
Rule 2 -:
Adverbs of time such as recently, usually, seldom, hardly’, rarely, normally, generally ,Aways, often, already, just, never, ever, sometimes, frequently, recently, etc. are generally placed before the verb they modify.
For Example-:
• He is always satisfied.
• He usually goes to the movie every friday.
• My brother often comes every sunday.
Rule 3 -:
If the sentence is introduced by an adverb, inverted form of the verb is used for the sake of emphasis.
For example -:
• Seldom does he visits his parents.
• Never will I see her again.
